Patterns are shown here in Agra white marble inlayed with semi-precious stones using the Pietra Dura method, originated in Florence in the 16th century. Stephanie Odegard introduced this Pietra dura technique in India in its modern sensibility in design in the early 90s. Because of the vast array of stones available to Stephanie's suppliers in India, any Pietra dura design can be replicated.
